New to classical music? Don’t be shy! We’ll talk briefly about each piece and also give you some context that pertains to the present day. For example, did you know that German composer Felix Mendelssohn was attacked for being Jewish and “effeminate,” and excluded from the German classical music canon after his death? We will discuss this and more. Come learn and enjoy this beautiful music as we seek to create an inclusive community.
